Happy Easter from the TWDK team! If you've been following us for a while now then you will probably remember Jon Cheyne, who wrote a number of articles for us last summer while he did an internship with us through the South East Physics Network (SEPnet).
So it is with great pleasure that we can announce we will be hosting another two physics interns through our partnership with SEPnet this summer, and we've already received a lot of really great applications. We'll be holding interviews and making our decision over the next few weeks, so you can look forward to some more great posts from June onward by our new interns!
If you're not familiar with SEPnet already, it's a consortium of physics departments in seven universities working together to deliver excellence in physics with a fresh approach to collaboration, teaching and research. Consequently, these two positions are only available to undergraduates at the following universities:
- The University of Kent
- The University of Portsmouth
- Queen Mary, University of London
- Royal Holloway, University of London
- The University of Southampton
- The University of Surrey
- The University of Sussex
However, we're always happy to hear from students in any branch of science, at any university anywhere in the world. If you impress us enough with your passion for science communication, we may just be able to find a position for you. If you'd like to spend some time writing for us, part or full time, holiday or term time, then get in touch with our recruitment team. Of course, providing those positions is a lot easier when we have partners like SEPnet, and would love to hear from any other universities or organisations with an interest in explaining the open questions of science to the public.
